On a personal trip to Mysuru, we decided to explore some temples en-route, and what we found surpassed our expectations.

This shloka originated from Prahlada raja, following the divine vision of Lord Ugra Narasimha in the Treta Yuga.
Sree Kshetra Mahima:
Madduru, also known as Arjuna Puri and Kadambakshetra, was once governed by the Kadamba dynasty. It is alternatively known as Maruduru and Narasimha-Chaturvedi Mangala. Madduru's history can be traced back to the Mahabharata era, particularly the Dwapara Yuga, when it was known as Arjuna Puri or Kadambakshetra.
Arjuna, having heard much about the Ugra Narasimha Avatar, asked Lord Krishna, an incarnation of Vishnu, to reveal his Narasimha form. Krishna replied that the intensity and ferocity of Narasimha's presence were too overwhelming for anyone to endure. Instead, he proposed that He could appear in a Vigraha sculpted by Brahma to grant Arjuna a vision. Consequently, Vishwakarma, upon Brahma's request, crafted an idol of Sri Ugra Narasimha and dispatched it to Arjuna Puri. There, Arjuna beheld the vision of Narasimha in his most formidable aspect, in what is today known as Madduru. The Shri Ugra Narasimha Temple in Madduru is revered as one of the Divya Narasimha Kshetras. This temple, restored by the Hoysala Kingdom, is at least 800 years old.
Description of Sri Ugra Narasimha Swamy Idol:
The Ashtabhuja Murti of Narasimha is depicted with eight hands and three eyes. Two of his hands are tearing Hiranyakashipu apart, who lies across His thighs, while another two hands are depicted as pulling out Hiranyakashipu's intestines, which adorn Narasimha's body like a garland. In his other hands, he holds the Sudarshana Chakra, the Panchajanya Conch, a Pasha (a noose used to bind enemies), and an Ankusha (an elephant goad). In the sanctum sanctorum you will find Bhakta Prahlada towards his right and Garuda on the left. Both Prahlada & Garuda are in the standing posture, bowing down, offering their prayers to Lord Narasimha.
According to legend, his third eye was revealed during the slaying of the demon Hiranyakashipu. It is quite uncommon to find an Agamic Trinetradaari Narasimha Temple; another such temple I know of is in Hubballi, although it is a recent construction.. Kadamba Rishi would bathe in the Kadamba River next to the temple before worshipping there, which is why the temple is referred to as Kadamba Punyakshetra.
As we exit the inner courtyard, we encounter the subsidiary shrines of Shri Srinivasa, and Maate Yashoda with Shri Krishna. Shri Sowmya Nayaki and Shri Narasimha Nayaki, consorts of Narasimha, are on the left side, and the Pattabhisheka Shri Rama Parivara (family) is present. A distinctive aspect of the Shri Rama Parivara temple is that Anjaneya is positioned to the left of Shri Rama, which is unusual as he is typically found on the right.

The Shri Varadaraja Temple is situated to the left of Shri Ugra Narasimha. According to legend, it is said that the mother of Hoysala King Vishnuvardhana lost her eyesight.. He sought guidance from his Guru, Shri Ramanujacharya, who advised him to offer worship at the Shri Varadaraja Perumal temple in Kanchipuram. As the King's mother was too elderly to embark on the strenuous journey, he ordered craftsmen from Kanchipuram to craft a precise duplicate of the Kanchi Shri Varadaraja Perumal. Following the consecration and Prana-Pratishta and continuous seva, the King's mother regained her sight and beheld the magnificent form of the deity Shri Varadaraja. Hence, the deity is also known as Kanchi Kann-Varadaraja Swami, with 'Kannu' meaning eyes and 'Vara' signifying a boon. Persons with eyesight problems worship and perform sevas here, to correct their eyesight.
The pundit asserts that sincere prayers and the Thirumanjanam offering to Lord Kann-Varadaraja result in the fulfillment of wishes. Additionally, it is believed that childless couples who perform Thirumanjanam, followed by Manjal kaappu, and bathe in water mixed with the same prasad, will be blessed with a child. This temple is indeed one of the most spiritually significant temples to visit near the Vaidyanathaswamy temple in Maddur.
